What did i get done?

• changed the look and feel of the app from ground up

• moved sign in functionality from firebase auth to clerk

• clerk authentification is much easier to work with than firebase auth
• working with openrouter for ai implementation is a completely new environment

What is limiting right now?

• coding with LLMs using openrouter and openai is currently a completely new environment and experience

Goals for this week

By the end of this week, I aim to release the Reflecta App for beta testing. This includes:

• adopting the app design to the design of our designer
• re-coding the editor to make it feel more native
• finish implementing AI functionality
• adding the first build to extern beta on testflight and get feedback from a bigger number of testers

What did i get done?

• Together with Louis we rebuilt the entire app from the roots. Full new experience, new gestures and new look and feel.

Learnings/New thoughts

• Simplicity and intuitive gestures are a key feature for a simple and nice to use app.

What is limiting right now?

• Since the start of summer break, there are no more outside limits for this week.

Goals for this week

By the end of this week, I aim to establish the fundamental groundwork of the app, ensuring its usability. I want to transform the app into a user-friendly platform with functional authentication (including sign in and onboarding) and seamless synchronization of entries with the web app. Users should be able to effortlessly navigate through past entries and effortlessly create new ones using a simple swipe gesture. Additionally, I plan to integrate a new feature that allows users to create entries by simply speaking.

What is limiting right now?

Because of some delay regarding the Apple Developer Account and lots of exams i didnt get much done this week.

• Sign in with google works different on web than it does on native devices
• Thinking about maybe adding an habit tracker into the app

• current school situation regarding exams and concentration are slowing my work a little

Goals for this week

By the end of this week, I will prepare the Reflecta App for beta testing. This includes:

• Implementing save & sync functionality for journal entries across devices
• Adding morning reflection and check-in prompt screens
• Submitting the app to the App Store
• Launching the first TestFlight beta

If time permits, I’ll begin integrating push notifications for journaling reminders. These deliverables are clear, achievable, and aligned with the app’s release timeline.

What did i get done?

• Started working on the Reflecta Mobile Native Application
• Set up the project in Expo and completed the first design draft
• Integrated ShadCN UI into both Figma and the Expo project
• Added SafeAreaView support to ensure better layout across devices
• Implemented swipe gesture navigation

Learnings/New thoughts

• Integrating UI libraries like ShadCN early in the design phase helps keep development consistent
• Google sign-in setup in native apps is more complicated then i thought and requires careful configuration of OAuth consent screen, SHA-1 fingerprints, and correct linking within Firebase Console

What is limiting right now?

• The Firebase authentication task is still not yet completed and the login state not saved
• Full sync logic and journal entry flow are not yet implemented or tested
• Upcoming Exams in School are blocking my workflow

Goals for this week

• By the end of this week, I aim to complete the Google sign-in integration, ensure database synchronization, finalize the handling of journal entries, and bring the app to a stable, functional state for the first beta testing wave.

What did i get done?

• Completed the Figma concept for the Reflecta mobile app.

Learnings/New thoughts

• Starting development highlighted that what feels clean and clear in Figma can become unintuitive when actually used on a device.
• I also realized that screen space on mobile needs to be used much more efficiently than on web. Layout decisions carry real weight in how the app feels and functions.

What is limiting right now?

• The weekly meeting was scheduled very late last week, which delayed my work until Thursday.

Goals for this week

• By the end of next week (Sunday. 01.06), I aim to complete the initial UI screens and implement basic features (e.g. Sign In, Journaling and Sage Cues) for the Reflecta mobile app to ensure it is in a usable state for the first wave of internal testing.

What did i get done?

• Implemented "Daily Grounding" feature to Team Posts
• Started working on first scatches for the Reflecta App in Figma

Learnings/New thoughts

• Sometimes its more important to get something done quick then get it done 100% right for the first time. Quantity before quality.

What is limiting right now?

• I was sick half of the week what caused slower and inconsistent working.

Goals for this week

• I want to start transforming the Reflecta App scatches and visions into reality.

• moved blogs to database backend and created management modals for blog posts
• fixed some layering of elements (e.g. header/footer)
• i improved the design of some pages and struktures
• reactions behaviour of ideas pages revised

What did I get done?

• Shipped several improvements to the acta.so website, including:
  • Reactions to idea updates
  • Enhanced team member permissions (editing idea descriptions)
  • Better content discoverability via sitemapping and crawling files
• Published a new episode of Behind Acta
• Continued refining internal tools, like the weekly update feature
• Ordered a book from the readings page to work on my selfimprovement.

Learnings / New thoughts

• Gained deeper understanding of databases & permissions behavior
• Realized how impactful small UX improvements can be on overall flow

What is limiting right now

• Starting school has added new responsibilities and mental load
• My workflow still feels a bit scattered — I get things done but without a consistent rhythm

Goals for this week

• Finish off the current cycle to complete the acta website project so i can start working on the Reflecta App Project.

• i shipped some new features to the acta.so website like this weekly update feature and detailed team overview
• i moved emails to the new acta.so domain and linked it with the new released newsletter feature

• i learned to better work with cursor and databases

what is limiting right now?

• i find it frustrating to see that my workflow is a little messy and slow
