• Applying logical/analytical thinking while being in an uncertain state of mind is like placing metal beams in a ground of mud

• Missing a state of mind to inspire myself and others and allows me to create freely

Learnings/New thoughts

Not being afraid of taking a totally new approach and starting over could have saved me 2 days of 'wasted' work.

Key to the new iteration (and new energy) of ReadPapersFast has been hidden behind the harsh truths of the feedback we've gotten.

New iterations can be built in 1-2 days, speed will be my primary focus instead of trying to obsess over perfection.

What is limiting right now?

• Alignment and being caught up in dev work instead of talking to Users

• Launched Read Papers Fast

• Fixed issues in first iteration of the product (Keywords extraction failing occasionally...etc)

• Reached out to people in my network to try out RPF, also posted on multiple Reddit Threads related to the Problem

• Set up posthog dashboard so we can track "growth" and our Northstar metric

• Talked and gathered feedback from 20+ Users

• Redesigned the User-flow and designed the new iteration of RPF based on collected knowledge of the launch

• Scripted, filmed and edited 1x instagram Reel

• Figured out my apartment situation for the next months

Learnings/New thoughts

This week has been filled with new insights and revelations, fundamentally changing our approach for ReadPapersFast.

I learned that extracting and dumping the entire PDF content on Users is overwhelming and not how they would typically work through papers.

Interestingly though, the first hints of this fallacy could already be felt 1-2 Days before the pivot - something I need to figure out how to act faster on.

Always tough having to revert and take a step back.

One thing I'm very surprised about was the motivation of users to give me insights on their workflows and current ways of doing things. I believe these insights might be key for successful iteration on the product and adopting a totally new way of thinking about a solution.
